Group Announcements 2011 Class 3A State Champs, again!The Chaparral Roadrunner chess team pulls off a “four-peat” by winning the state class 3A championship for the fourth consecutive year! The roadrunners beat Erie, Thomas More Prep (Hays), The Independent School (Wichita), Hillsboro, and Neodesha high school for the state class 3A championship crown.
2009-10 All Stars and Honor Teams Announced!Both the Chaparral High School and the Anthony Elementary chess teams were once again awarded State Honor Team titles for the '09-10 season. Runners Cade B., Jason S., and R.C. were elected to the State All Star Team for being one of the top players in the state in their divisions. Honor Team and All Star status is determined by season-long performance and is reserved for only the top teams and top individuals in the state. Way 2 go!
2010 State Champions 3A!The Chaparral Roadrunners became the class 3A state champions for the third consecutive year on March 13th at Blue Valley Northwest High School near Kansas City. Also, in the overall where all the state's best teams compete regardless of school classification, the runners brought home a 2nd place beating ALL scholastic teams!
CONGRATULATIONS ROADRUNNERS! 2008-09 All Stars and Honor Teams AnnouncedBoth the Chaparral High School and the Anthony Elementary chess teams were awarded State Honor Team titles for the '08-'09 season. Also, jr. Runner M.S. was elected to the State All Star Team for being one of the top 10 players in the state in his division. 2009 State Champions 3A!The Chaparral Roadrunners became the class 3A state champions for the second consecutive year on March 14th at WSU. Also, in the overall where all the state's best teams compete regardless of school classification, the runners brought home a 4th place trophy! Way to go runners! CONGRATULATIONS ROADRUNNERS!
2008 State Champions 3A!The Chaparral Roadrunners chess team became the Class 3A State Chess Champions on March 8th at Blue Valley High School a suburb of Kansas City! CONGRATULATIONS ROADRUNNERS!

Play Chess NowTry out your skills against a Java-based computer program. It really plays well but it doesn't know draw by repetition and other seldom seen rules.
